Main Types of ADUs We Specialize In

Detached ADUs

Garage ADU’s, or garage conversions, in addition to the excellent privacy factor, are a great choice when lot space is limited, or you are looking to preserve green space. Garage ADU’s can either be constructed by converting an existing garage space, or by adding a second level above the garage.

Attached ADUs

Attached to the main home by adding on to the existing primary dwelling, these types of ADUs are best suited for occupancy by a family member or close friend. For example, you may have an elderly family member who requires your care yet needs their own privacy and space and vice versa. It’s also a great steppingstone if you have an older child who isn’t quite ready to live entirely on their own or does not have the financial means to afford the high cost of renting from a non-family private owner or large real estate company.

Garage Conversions

Garage ADU’s, or garage conversions, in addition to the excellent privacy factor, are a great choice when lot space is limited, or you are looking to preserve green space. Garage ADU’s can either be constructed by converting an existing garage space, or by adding a second level above the garage.

Internal ADUs

Similar to the Attached ADU are the Internal ADU (constructed within the existing floorplan of the primary dwelling), Upstairs ADU (constructed within an existing upper level or on a second floor addition), and Basement ADU (constructed within the basement level of the primary home).

Benefits of ADUs

Affordable

ADUs are affordable because they do not require paying for land, major new infrastructure, structured parking, or elevators.

Cost-Effective

ADUs are built with cost-effective wood frame construction, which is significantly less costly than homes in new multifamily infill buildings.

Extra Living Space

ADUs can provide as much living space as many newly-built apartments and condominiums, and they're suited well for couples, small families, friends, young people, and seniors.

Passive Income

We’re helping homeowners in Los Angeles earning averagely $2,500 a month by building their ADUs which are turned into residential units.

Privacy

ADUs allow extended families to be near one another while maintaining privacy.

Flexibility

ADUs give homeowners the flexibility to share independent living areas with family members and others.

AFFORDABLE AND INNOVATIVE ADU'S

For homeowners, an ADU in California is a perfect way to maximize the use of their property. From using it as a rental unit or to accommodate family, an accessory dwelling unit has many different benefits, not to mention the value it adds to your property. Levi Design Build understands that homeowners are looking to design and build ADU’s that are not just beautiful and comfortable, but also affordable and innovative.

Why build an ADU?

From increasing the value of your property, to financial security and helping you support family, there are many reasons why homeowners are rushing to build an ADU in Los Angeles. From an investment point of view, an ADU is a great way to bring monthly income. When you rent out your accessory dwelling unit over a 4 to 5-year period, you will get a full return of your investment. Whether you’re using your garage conversion or guest house to generate income or to accommodate your family, building an ADU in LA will always increase the value of your property.

Work with Our Design Build Process

When working on your ADU ideas, we’ll begin with an initial consultation. After discussing the ADU project, you’ll move on to the design phase. During this process, you’ll create a floor plan with our design team. Your approved design will get the necessary building plans from our architects and engineers. Followed by the required permits to begin construction. Your project manager will be responsible to coordinate and oversee the completion of your project on time, within budget and scope.
